Since 2014 Dream State Entertainment has partnered with Carbon Neutral to offset carbon emissions produced by their fire shows and vehicle usage.

Using a conservative estimate and the Carbon calculator on the Carbon Neutral’s website – where the emission factors are updated each year, the amount of unavoided greenhouse gases have been calculated.

Dream State Entertainment has offset its carbon emissions through Carbon Neutral’s Australian reforestation project – the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. For more information on their amazing programs please see their website, where you too can offset your carbon emissions.

In 2019 spurred on by the recent fires and impacts of climate change that we see all around us, Dream State Entertainment has decided to carbon offset the travel of all the performers engaged in their 2020 Fringe season and the shows “Fuego Carnal” and “Primo Loco”.

The idea of conserving energy is not a new one to Dream State Entertainment and in 2010 they launched the company Cirque Eco, where the stage was powered by a mix renewable energy and offset energy sources. They live in a “tiny home” on wheels, with a solar grid which generates enough power for them to run their shows, sound, lights and all!

Dream State Entertainment now lives most of the year in Far North Queensland caretaking a local community hall, and teaching circus to local children and adults. We still live in a “tiny home” on wheels on the hall grounds and are lucky that the hall is fitted with a solar grid and solar hot water, thus we use minimal grid electricity. We recycle, not only our waste but the community halls waste too, and reuse where we can. We are always looking at new ways to produce less waste, and consume in a more environmentally friendly way.
