Dream BIG! Circus Workshops Explained
Dream BIG! Circus workshops are a series of super fun, age-appropriate circus workshops designed for children and adults. Here at Dream BIG! we teach various circus skills, working on goal setting and achieving, self-discipline, self confidence, working together and more...
We have classes from Monday to Wednesday, primarily taught by Sophie McGrath with varying guest and student trainers throughout the year.
All classes are full term only, no one off classes. Trial classes are $25.
Our insurance fee, paid only once a year, is $50 for the full year, this is payable whether you stay for one term or for 4 and is a flat rate due at the beginning of the year or whenever in the year you join circus.
Please note, our aerial rig is outside so if it is raining the class will still be on, but for that week, students will be given exercises to do in the hall, i.e. acro balance, conditioning training, handstand training, training games.WE DO NOT CANCEL CLASSES DUE TO THE WEATHER!
❤️ ADULT ACRO & GENERAL CIRCUS ❤️
Ages: 18+
When: Tuesdays, 7.00 pm - 8.30 pm Duration: 1.5 hrs
Total: NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING
This adult class, Jacob and Sophie will take you on a journey into circus and their love and passion for it.
All ages, genders and ability levels are welcome.
If you are interested in playing with the medium of circus building coordination, strength and flexibility connecting with people and having fun then this might be for you. Acrobalance is two or more person balancing. It is super fun, great for team building and for interpersonal communication and relationship building. Then there is juggling, unicycle, stilts, and the possibility of aerial - though this term with the rain it is questionable.
In this class, there are trainers, but we understand circus is a broad subject and different people excel at different skills, almost everyone has something to share, therefore safe skill sharing is encouraged. There is a basic instructor lead warm up and activities, or you are free to come and work on your own level of skill and interest in the hall and collaborate with others.

⭐️️ Special Note/ Frequently asked Question ⭐️ "What should I do if my child doesn't join in?" The class may be overwhelming for your young child, it can take them a few sessions to join in, this is normal! If you join in yourself and allow them to observe, slowly, they will join in of their own accord. If it keeps being pointed out that they are not joining in, or if they feel pressured it can make them more self-conscious, it is important that you remain playful, light and honour where they are at. COVID -19 ProtocolYou, your families health and the health of our trainers is very important to us.
We are following the guidelines set out by the Queensland Government for Gymnastics and Dance. Please be aware of the following. If you / a student is unwell or has flu like symptoms please do not come to class. If you have been in contact with someone known to have Covid 19 please do not come to class until you have been tested. All students will be required to wash their hands on entering the Workshop space. Soap, paper towels and water will be provided and available to all students. Hand sanitiser will be available to all students and trainers. Trainers will hand sanitise between spotting students. Spotting is classified under sports as incidental contact. Students are asked to wear clean clothes to all circus workshops. Thank you for working with this to keep everyone safe and well. |
